A lot has happened these past few days, and we’d like to share an update and extend our support to the community. We will release a more in-depth post in the future, delving deeper into the legality and ramifications of this news. For today, I would simply like to speak from the heart.

First and foremost: I believe in the resilience of this community, and I believe that we will endure. 7-hydroxy is not illegal. The FDA has recommended it get scheduled, but nothing legal has occurred yet, and the scheduling process can take years. Even so, we are already starting to see the effects, with credit card processors starting to cut ties with online brands. It’s important to understand that these are all pre-emptive actions, a knee-jerk overreaction to the news as companies take a “better safe than sorry” approach. We want to reiterate that while this will surely deal a huge blow to the industry, 7-OH is not illegal and may not be for a very long time.

7-OH is safer than ever

To be honest, one of the most disappointing aspects about the timing of everything is that 7-hydroxy has never been cleaner, cheaper and more honest than it is today. One of the reasons we started our project was because so many products were underdosed and the market was flooded with scammy, fly-by-night brands. The majority of our initial ratings were F’s. Over the last year we’ve seen so many honest, dependable brands climb to the top, and we’re proud to have given out more A’s and B’s recently than ever before. It sucks to feel like after all the work that so many people have put into cleaning up the industry, this is when the hammer comes down.

7Box is live

Since several people have been asking us about our Box of the Month: yes, it is still happening. We have not received any communication suggesting that we shut it down. So as of now, anyone who has pre-ordered it, and anyone who orders it in the near future, will receive their box in the next week.

Part of why we’re devastated by the news is because we were so excited to finally find a solution that allowed us to continue operating and get you all a great deal. We were hoping this would be an epic first box in a long history of boxes, and we’re saddened by the possibility that this might be the only Box of the Month we ever do. Well, if it is, we promise to make it great.

To be clear, we do not plan on stopping 7Box, and we are already working on delivering something special for September. However, the reality of the situation is that there are a lot of moving pieces outside of our control. All we can do at this point is take things one day at a time.
